Lemon Summer Tablescape

Aww summer! A time for flip flops, sandcastles, cookouts, sunscreen, popsicles, and of course lemonade. I love being outside in the summer gardening, boating, or playing sports. It is a time to be outside and enjoy all that mother nature has to offer! Bringing the outdoors in was my inspiration for this tablescape, that and lemons, lots of lemons! The colorful fresh pop of yellow is the perfect choice for the cheerful spirit that summer brings! I found everything for this table at HomeGoods!

Instead of using a tablecloth, I crisscrossed two yellow and gray table runners. This added a grounding color scheme and symmetry to the table in an unexpected way.

For the ends of the centerpiece, I filled two terra-cotta pots with lemons. I also had two plants in gray stone pots that matched the gray in the table runners. These things helped to bring in some of the outdoor elements to my table, as well as color and texture!

To add some more depth and hight, I placed some whimsical white and yellow floral twigs into beautiful glass jugs.

The beauty of this table is in it’s simplicity! It is clean and effortless. It is casual coastal elegance at it’s finest. It is charming and inviting without being fussy!

Lemons are so beautiful! They are the focal point of this table! Their cheery yellowy sunshiny bright color brings happiness and warmth to the table. You can choose to use real or fake lemons. I used fake so that my tablescape would last. Adding in other citrus fruits like limes or oranges would also be a beautiful accent to the centerpiece.

The place settings are simple with a braided wicker style placemat, white and yellow dishes, with a yellow and gray napkin to complement my stripe color scheme. The pattern on the cloth napkins added a subtle pop to the solid colored plates.
