Overnight Oat Jars

These couldn’t be simpler! You make them the night before, wake up in the morning, and breakfast is served! They are great for a hearty breakfast before school or work. I also used to bring them to work as a snack to get through those long mornings. They are a great addition to your lunch box!

Oats are simply comforting and homie. Whether you are pressed for time in the morning, or want to relax with the morning paper, these jars are for you.

Ingredients
4 glass mason jars- pint size
2 cups of gluten free rolled oats (1/2 cup for each jar)
2 cups of coconut/almond milk (1/2 cup for each jar)
1/2 tbsp chia seeds X 4
1/4 tsp vanilla/almond extract X 4
1/2 cup fruit of choice: berries, apples, bananas, cherries, pomegranate. X 4
topping options- walnuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios, honey, maple syrup, cacao nibs, or chocolate chips.

Add your 1/2 cup of oats to each jar.

Then cover your oats with 1/2 cup of your liquid of choice, enough to cover the oats.

Pour in your 1/4 tsp vanilla or almond extract and stir lightly.

Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top. Pour the 1/2 tbsp of chia seeds on the oats evenly.

Add your fruit of choice. I like to add some nuts on top, and maybe even a little honey.

I add a splash of milk to the top, twist the lid on, and store in the refrigerator over night.
